As 2020 approaches, your financial support helps us to continue our citizen-science based research.

As former Boulder City Councilor Steve Pomerance wrote in his opinion piece A clean energy plan for Colorado, solar and wind are more dependable and much cheaper than any of the old 20th century forms of generating electricity like CONG [coal, oil, nukes, and gas]. Think about how an energy plan like this could work in your state! 

We need new jobs leading to an environmentally compatible future for all of our kids and grandkids. With wildfires, heatwaves, and major climate-crisis induced storms, we need to take these steps to create safer, easy-to-manage, and much cheaper forms of generating electricity that also create new local jobs and stronger local communities without major power companies shredding our future. Funding new nukes and extending the lives of old decrepit nukes chokes out precious financial resources that should be invested in creating renewable energy here in the US and abroad. Sustainable energy sources create real jobs that are local, statewide, and throughout our country. 

Fairewinds will continue to study the migration of radioactivity emanating from nuclear power and nuclear weapons facilities. Let’s create the necessary science that local communities need to force the clean up these highly radioactive sites before contamination spreads even further.
