Climate Emergency: Why We Support VoteClimate2020.org
/Climate challenges are nonpartisan!
VOTECLIMATE2020.ORG not risky nukes!
More than 95% of the scientific community, as well as local community groups around the world, agree that the global climate crisis is real and imminent.
At Fairewinds, we believe that every American needs to Vote Climate in the 2020 elections:
First, the earth is a beautiful place that needs our protection.
Second, we are running out of time for action to mitigate the worst effects of the Climate Crisis.
Third, there is no “Planet B” for us to evacuate to!
Now, we see it first hand in Charleston, SC, almost every day. Flooding downtown and all over the surrounding communities is really hampering life for people in South Carolina’s Low Country. Like many workplaces nowadays, we also have remote employees as far away as Tennessee and Vermont. In Tennessee, Patrick (our program administrator) is experiencing more destructive tornadoes, rainstorms, and flooding; after one exceedingly terrible tornado, he did not have internet for three weeks. In Vermont, where all our offices were until 2018, Sue, other colleagues, and contractors are living through episodic and tremendous heat waves – where most homes have no air conditioning.
We ask you today to join us and address the Earth’s Climate Emergency head-on:
Vote Climate in the 2020 elections.
Fairewinds is an alliance group member and a proud supporter of VOTECLIMATE2020.org!
Will you please join us and spread the word to others?
Thank you, fellow earthlings!

Fairewinds Energy Education, with research and hard work of the Fairewinds Crew, Fairewinds science advisors, and a group of amazing interns from the University of Vermont (UVM), created the CO2 Smokescreen animation in 2016. You can find other translations here on our site.
In 2016, Fairewinds’ Arnie Gundersen presented a condensed version of the CO2 Smokescreen at McGill University, you can view and read the transcript here.
