Presentation to Diet Members at Japanese Diet Building

Arnie Gundersen made a presentation to Diet members August 31, 2012. The Diet is Japan's legislative body, with 480 members elected to the House of Representatives and 242 elected to the House of Councillors. He opens by explaining why he is dedicating the rest of his life to making sure that the consequences of this accident were chronicled properly, compared to what the US did after Three Mile Island. He says the workers who stayed behind at the Fukushima reactors are heroes who saved the world from a much worse accident. He goes onto to talk about the challenges in depth. He was able to discuss safety problems at Fukushima Daiichi Unit 4’s spent fuel pool with Tokyo Electric when he met with Diet members.
